Come New Year’s day, for most people - if they’re not too hungover - they’ll set a list of intentions for their goals.

Lose X amount of pounds.

Be a better parent. 

Go to the gym X 

Make X amount of money this year. 

IF YOU’RE A HIGH ACHIEVER, YOU MAY HAVE A VERY LOOOOOONG LIST. IT MAY BE REPLETE WITH DETAILED “TO DO’S” OF ALL THE HABITS YOU’RE GOING TO CHANGE, ALL THE THINGS YOU’RE GOING TO START, AND STOP, AND DO!

Problem is - they’re lacking depth.

There is no SOUL in most people’s goals.

There’s a good-hearted intention. There’s a conscious concept. 

But that intention is battling YEARS of subconscious programming all providing a highlight reel of all the reasons why you haven’t been able to achieve, receive of becoming the person who has those goals, habits, things…NOW. 

And conscious concepts, no matter how good-hearted your intentions are, require brute willpower.

You can never change who you BE by force alone. 

BECAUSE IT’S NEVER ABOUT THE DOING.

Did you know that your discomfort is a GOOD thing? When you feel overwhelmed, uncomfortable like you want to blame someone, or you feel gross, weird, awkward AF, all of those are signs that you are teetering on the edge of a new way of being.

A new identity awaits on the other side of everything that makes your ego want to scream and run away, hiding under the rock of its excuses.

You see your ego will want to keep you small.

It may take the face and voice of others, cajoling, nitpicking, or deriding you for how you do things, chipping away at your confidence.

It may take the face of people you love, who give you horrible advice like, “That’ll never work” or “isn’t that risky?”

It may take the form of your kids, using them as an excuse not to grow beyond.

It may take the voice of your partner, looking like “the voice of reason” to all your “crazy” ideas.

It may take the form of people on the interwebs, spewing hate, or saying that you’re “too much.”

Too much?

Too much for whom...

Holy moly! My TEDx Talk came out this past week and it brought out all the feels. From all the friends, colleagues, acquaintances, people on the interwebs who watched it, messaged me, posted, shared it…from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!!!

Honestly, this experience of it releasing into the world was one that literally PROVED my TEDx hypothesis.

The basis of my TEDx Talk was this:

YOUR LIFE IS A TESTIMONY OF POSSIBILITY. AND PEOPLE ARE WATCHING. 

Why?

Because it’s showing what’s possible for THEM too!!!

Mirror, mirror neurons, baby!!

When you see other people achieve their dreams, even if it’s something that you don’t desire or want for yourself, it inspires YOU to believe that your dreams are possible for you too.

People want to see your dreams come true because you are literally teaching them that it is possible for THEIR dreams to come true.

You are the example.

You are the testimony.

You are the pioneer.

I have waited for this day, with bated breath for a month!!!! It felt the same as I waited those extra weeks for Colton to come, nearly three weeks past his due date.

Pregnant with purpose. Pulsating with potential. 

IT’S BEEN A PROCESS OF TRUSTING, RELEASING, BREATHING DEEP, AND KNOWING IT WOULD HAPPEN.

Knowing that the possibility was in me, I’d birthed it and it was going to come…period…perfectly in its divine timing.

The mind is funny when dreams are realized.

The night I gave my TEDx Talk, I came off stage and balled my eyes out. 

I’d thought the sound was funky and within minutes of a truly life-liberating experience, suddenly all the self-limiting stories of fear started to come up.

I could feel my fear-based mind running with a story of…

I constantly had to check myself these past few weeks and remember to practice what I preach:

TRUST and SURRENDER.

TRUST that the sound would be fine.

The sheep of colossal consumers glutinously gasping for purpose… and still starving.
