(#292) Identifying the Underlying Pattern
Hello and welcome back to an audio only version of the Shriner's Health Podcast. This is just for my audio only OG listeners before we did anything with video. And normally, honestly, I keep these so simple because I record these in my car in between when I am picking up the kids or taking them to a class or have a few extra time, there's a lot of time that you sit in the car. And I was actually listening to a podcast. I know this guy. I see his face. I just, I think his name is Doctor John DeMartini. He was on my friend Hillary Russo's podcast, Holistically Speaking, which is, by the way, amazing. Ten out of ten recommend you subscribe. She just was on the Crime Herself podcast recently. I was listening to an Instagram clip where he was speaking about the shadows and the insecurities and the things that you are escaping are actually like a sign of something. And this really sat with me. It was one of those few Instagram posts. You're like, oh damn, like that was a ten out of ten. Like that was a home run post. And I know I was meant to see that. And I know that was like, that's working in me right now. Literally a week later, I am sitting in my car. Full moon has happened in Aries. Fire has, you know, broken out. Not like literally, but like metaphorically, where shadows have come to the surface, other stuff to work on. And the last night I ate, well, I didn't eat the entire bag, but I finished a good size bag of cheddar popcorn, and there was a concept of like, I have to finish this. And then I went back for that second glass of wine because I was like, oh, well, let's just throw away the bottle because I have to finish this. So there I was in this pattern of a belief system, and this is why I preach like it's not about personal development, it is about self-awareness of consciousness. And when you are aware and conscious of those things, that is when you actually have the power to change and see. And so as I'm driving this morning and this morning, things were fiery. I was more emotional. I was like feeling yucky in my body. And I was like, oh, what is this that I'm driving? I'm like, oh, oh. I was like, well, it's the cheddar popcorn. I'm like, I'm super bloated this morning. That. And I'm like, no, it's not, it's not the fucking popcorn, Kim. It's not the popcorn. You know what it is. It's the concept of finishing because the things that I was using, not that there's anything bad with Netflix or having some popcorn. I rarely have it. Or having that second glass of wine. I rarely have it these days, but I was like, there was the pattern, the underlying pattern. It wasn't about the popcorn. It wasn't about the wine. It wasn't about the tangible things in the physical realm. And it never is what it was about. It was about the concept of finishing things, finishing what you started, and the modalities of escapism, the poisons of choice. Not necessarily poisons like cheddar. Popcorn is not necessarily a poison, but in that energy, like there was a point where my body said, stop. Like you're good. Like what purpose do you quote unquote, have to finish the bag? And I was like, wow, it's like two handfuls. And we consciously make these reasons and excuses and The whole reason I'm telling you the stories is that you see that it's not just the patterns that manifest themselves on physical realm. Like it's not about the popcorn, it's not about the wine. It's not about watching that second episode of Legends on Netflix because I was just enjoying my time. What it's about is it's about the underlying pattern of finishing, and this is where the concept and NLP comes into place, a chunking up and chunking down. And when I look at, oh, chunked up, the overarching theme was finishing. It wasn't, but I was finishing bullshit. Things that don't need to be finished, right? Like you don't have to finish the bag of popcorn, you don't have to finish the ice cream. You don't have to finish these things. You look at the thing that's bugging you. Think, what does this mean? Like what really does this mean? What is the underlying like if we were to chunk up, what is the overarching underlying belief system or pattern that this really encompasses? So for me, in that instance, it was around the concept of finishing. And there are certain projects that I have brought 80% to the finish line, but we just haven't crossed the finish line with and the escapism route, even though in the moment I was like, I'm just enjoying this experience. But ultimately, when the trigger presents itself consciously, that means it's ready for healing. And so when this presented to my self conscious of like, why am I feeling bad about this popcorn? Like I very rarely shame myself around food anymore. Like very rarely does it ever come up. And normally whenever it does come up, I can identify, oh, it's because of this other thing that really is the thing. It's never about the thing itself. It's never about the food. It's never really about the money. It's never about. The clients. It's never about, you know, the relationship. It's about something beyond that that you are seeing within you, that is your shadow that you get to bring out and that you get to heal. And so when I identify it, oh crap, the problem isn't with the cheddar popcorn. The problem is with the belief system or the pattern of finishing. And these unfinished projects that are like please, please, please, please, please finish what you've started. And that's what I have to focus on. And once I heal that, if I had a second glass of wine, it wouldn't frickin matter. It wouldn't matter because I've healed the pattern. So it's looking at what are those overarching themes that are a part of the pattern that you think you don't like? Because what our brain logically gets to do is it logically starts to micro hyper focus on the thing in the physical realm, missing the emotional, mental, and spiritual things that actually are the real thing that we need to refocus, shift and pivot. Because that's why something in the physical realm is not manifesting as you desire it to. So the bloating that I experienced this morning where I was like, oh, this feels gross, and this is how fast you can learn these things. Like, once you adapt yourself to masterfully practicing this, you can learn the lesson and gather it within 24 hours. It's used to take me weeks or months, sometimes even years. And now I'm very fast at identifying, oh my God, the bloating isn't the popcorn. I mean, maybe it is possibly a little bit on the fat side, but it's really the inflated ego that got inflated that's like, oh, I got to protect her and keep her safe from finishing those projects that actually are a big thing for her. That could be a big thing that could make her more visible, that could make her stand out, that could do all these things that we feel currently unsafe with. it comes back to safety. And so when you identify the thing that you're actually avoiding and then you approach that thing that you're actually avoiding, then suddenly those things that you may do that may feel compulsory. And that's the difference between intuition and compulsion. Compulsion comes from ego and conscious reasoning that is actually out of alignment. Intuition will whisper, hey, that's not actually what your goal is like. That's not actually the right path. And then sometimes it'll hit you over the head with a brick with like, extra bloating, like it's a day. It was like, hey, I told you so. I come to you with this humbling experience of cheddar, popcorn and wine to invite you to look at the overarching pattern, to invite you to have the exploration of what does it beyond the physical realm. That actually is the problem. Because when you can look at a. And like that, you will solve it ten times faster. You will get ten times more done because it's not about doing more, it's about doing the right things. And that's where you actually fall greater into alignment. And now I can go home and course correct and send out those few emails that I need to send to get those projects through to the finish line. There it is in practice. Thank you so much.
