Please enjoy this transcript of the Crown Yourself Podcast, with your host, transformational story coach, Kimberly Spencer (@Kimberly.Spencer)
You’ve grown. Your business has grown. But somewhere on the internet, an old version of you is still introducing herself to your next client.
When Kimberly Spencer moved her Yelp page from California to Texas, she discovered that her bio was still representing 2018 Kimberly. Eight years of growth, client results, media appearances, and a bestselling book—and that one public touchpoint hadn’t caught up.
Queen, more eyeballs on an outdated identity won’t tell people what you can actually do for them.
In this episode of the Crown Yourself® podcast, Kimberly explores why more visibility doesn’t necessarily translate into more clients or revenue. For high-performing entrepreneurs, the next breakthrough may begin with brand positioning: making your authority, your accomplishments, and the problem you solve unmistakably clear.
Through personal storytelling and client examples, Kimberly connects subconscious success strategies with the identities we communicate publicly. You’ll explore five places potential clients encounter your brand: your bio, social presence, physical environment, voicemail or other direct interactions, and website.
This is an invitation to practice sovereign leadership by owning what you’ve already earned—and communicating it in service of the people you’re here to help. You’ll learn how to examine your messaging with discernment, identify outdated positioning, and reflect both your current accomplishments and the leader you’re becoming.
Before you chase another stage, podcast interview, or follower milestone, ask: What do people understand when they find me?
Listen, audit your touchpoints, and explore Kimberly’s Make Your Mark bio resource to bring your introduction into alignment with your next chapter.
Queen, before you chase more attention, make sure people can clearly see the value you bring. 👑

Kimberly Spencer (host):
Visible isn't necessarily going to make you more money.
You can right.
You can cancel me for this, but getting more visible will not necessarily make you more money. Because you can have all of the podcast interviews, all of the stages, the followers, the press, the content, and still wonder why that attention is not translating into clients.
And if you're a high performing, already successful entrepreneur, that distinction is incredibly important because your time is so dang valuable. You don't want to be wasting it on a bunch of visibility that doesn't actually convert and build traction for what you're building.
[01:05]
Kimberly Spencer (host):
The question isn't simply how do I get more people to see me? The question actually is what's happening when they actually do?
I'm Kimberly Spencer, subconscious success strategist for high-performing visionary leaders. And I have spent more than a decade dissecting and studying the difference between how successful people think, how they lead, how they communicate, and how and how they've become visible in a way that actually converts. And Here on Crown Yourself, we go underneath the strategy.
Because everybody's got a strategy, but we have to look at what's actually gonna work for you and your subconscious mind. Because the subconscious strategy, Because the subconscious success strategies that created your current level normally are the ones that are constraining and blocking you from reaching your next. So today we're gonna be looking at visibility.
So today we're going to be looking at visibility through the lens of what actually converts, what makes it perform, what may be happening beneath the surface when you're being seen, but you're still not getting results and the outcomes that you want from it. Kimberly Spencer (host):
Having coached leaders now for over a decade, high performing visionary leaders, brilliant people who have built incredible, Having coached visionary leaders for over a decade, Emmy Award winners, people who have led and produced billion dollar shows from people who have led and produced shows for billion dollar franchises, six, seven, eight, nine-figure entrepreneurs. More often, what I've seen is that
you don't have a visibility problem just because you need more clients. You may have a perception problem.
[03:28]
Kimberly Spencer (host):
A successful founder's instinct is
So often for successful founders, the answer regularly is more. I need more team. I need We need more content. We need more podcasts. We need more audience. We need bigger, bigger, bigger, bigger, more, more, more, more outreach.
But if the marketplace doesn't clearly understand the positioning of what you're an authority on, what problem you solve, and why it matters to them, that part is key. Increasing reach.
Simply just increases ambivalence.
[04:08]
Kimberly Spencer (host):
That's where you we bring That's where I bring in the subconscious success layer. What if your external positioning is actually communicating an old identity, one that you've already outgrown?
So I recently experienced this as we are looking to generate more local business. We moved to the Austin area. I finally moved my Yelp page from California to Texas. Huzzah. That being said, when I saw how my Yelp
Bio was representing me. It was from 2018 me, eight years old. And in that eight years, we have had so many phenomenal client results. We have had massive growth. I've written for Forbes. I've I've written for Entrepreneur Magazine. I have been on over 300 podcasts. I launched a best selling multi award winning book. So much change has happened since that 2018 me.
But my identity was my identity, that one touch point of an area of my business was still reflecting 2018 me. No wonder we weren't seeing Yelp converting.
[05:27]
Kimberly Spencer (host):
So what we did is we obviously shifted it, repositioned it, repivoted it to fit 2026 me identity and 2027 and beyond. Because with identity work, with visibility, you want to walk the line between who you are now, everything you've accomplished to this point, and demonstrating your capacity just a little bit, showing where you're going.
Your bio should have something that is aspirational, bigger, and should feel like almost like you need to be stepping into it just as much as it reflects you.
So we're
[06:21]
Kimberly Spencer (host):
So in this video, we're gonna look at the five places that someone is most likely to encounter you right now. The first place to look, look at your bio. Seriously, look at your bio. Is it reflective of who you are now and everything you've accomplished or did you write it five years ago? I bet you've done a bit more than what you are communicating to this point.
Your bio should be a living, breathing thing that you revisit regularly. And if you want some support in going through and really getting into the nitty-gritty of making sure that your bio accurately reflects who you are, click down below and you can get my make your mark biobuilder course that is within 60 minutes, we'll go through all the details and you'll have a freshly rewritten bio that actually reflects who you are now and where you're going. This is the number one place I start to look
for constraints, because I will know your subconscious success strategy by how you're describing and communicating what you do and yourself. So, for and I'll give you an example. One of my clients, successful seven-figure founder, multiple locations in a service-based business. And yet she was describing herself like a content creator, like a generic looking for likes, hoping for followers, content creator.
And I was like, "Queen, we gotta revamp what you how you how you present yourself to show the actual level of accomplishment that you've already earned". It's not about bragging about something that you haven't actually done. It's about being in integrity and owning what you've already earned.
Kimberly Spencer (host):
Number two, we wanna look at your social presence. Look over all of the spaces, all of those touch points as to how is a positioning
you so that you show other people how you're solving their problem. Because people are never really coming to you to look for you. They're looking to how you can serve them. It's an underlying subconscious question that we all have. And it sounds incredibly arrogant and incredibly selfish, but our subconscious mind is wired to survive, not to thrive. And so it's always looking out for danger, for.
[08:45]
how something is gonna help us or hurt us. So we wanna look at every social touch point that you have, whether it's your YouTube channel, your Instagram, look at all of those touch points and just you can take a screenshot of it, upload it to ChatGPT and say, does this all cohesively match the perception of who I am, what I've accomplished to this point, and how I can also serve others?
[09:22]
Kimberly Spencer (host):
Then also look at your external reality. What does your office look like? What does your place of business look like? All of these touch points, like if you have a physical base location, is it reflective of who you are desiring to attract and to have as a repeat customer? For example, I had a client who had a lovely little coffee shop.
The coffee was probably the best in town. And it came in a little mug rather than a like a hot, warmer cup, which I always appreciate. Cause I'm like, if I'm sitting down, popping open my laptop, I want like cozy, mug, warm feeling. That being said, at the coffee shop, some of the paint was coming off the walls. Like it just wasn't upkept really well. The coffee was great. The food was okay. But overall, the
interior aesthetic did not match the elevated potential of this space. And eventually that business closed down.
So does the inter the exterior, the look, the feel, the aesthetic, the environment actually reflect who you are and where you're going. I did a recent episode about how we upgraded our podcast studio space. Now, this is my desk. This is my working desk that I work in every day. But we upgraded, we added some lights, we added a little backdrop, we added some like up lighting, downlighting. I'm not sure what it is, but it I like it. I First person
Personally, I like I love it. It elevated the space. But it elevated the space to the new standards that we were setting for ourselves.
Kimberly Spencer (host):
We also want to look at where people interact with you. It could be in your voicemail. If people are calling your book of business or calling your cell phone, look at how that's describing you. Is that an accurate description of who you are, what you do, and who you serve now, and how you can help someone? And then lastly,
[11:28]
Kimberly Spencer (host):
we want to look at your website. What is it in your website that's clearly communicating your authority and your positioning and specifically how you help people solve the problem that you now help people solve?
[11:43]
Kimberly Spencer (host):
You wanna look at all of these pieces and if the answer for what
You don't want to Let's not go and change everything. I want to be very clear. We're not going in to change everything. We're going in with a fine-toothed, discerning eye for someone to say, what would I hire this person for? What is the problem that they're solving for me?
Because we want to look at when, especially for service based entrepreneurs, we want to look through the lens of how is our customer looking at how this is solving a problem for
them. And that's it. If the answer isn't painfully obvious in all of these five areas, or if it isn't what you wanted to be hired for, the problem isn't necessarily getting more visibility. It's perception and it's curating that perception. And that's your job as CEO.
Kimberly Spencer (host):
More visibility does not correct perception. It only amplifies ambiguity. So if you love this episode, click down below. Make sure you grab the Make Your Mark bio kit.
