So I remember sitting back in 2018 and I had just hit my first 13K month and I was like, oh my God, I have arrived. I am the coach now.

And as soon as I did, my nervous system went, what the hell just happened? Because my subconscious mind had a whole different identity than who I was being as that person.

What happened was old identity patterns resurfaced, emotional reactions started to come up. This was the moment I realized the jarring divide between mindset and embodiment of that next level version of you.

Limiting Beliefs Aren’t Just Thoughts — They’re Subconscious Rules (06:00)

In NLP, a limiting belief isn't just a thought. We think that, oh, it's mindset. We need to change our mindset, right?

But it's actually the way your mind is set.

Your mindset is a subconscious rule created to keep you safe.

This rule keeps reinforcing and recoding itself until it becomes identity-level truth.

The “Dirty Dishes” Metaphor for Subconscious Build-Up (07:40)

It's kind of like when you have the dishes in a sink and the first-day dishes are fine. But you go multiple days and what was sub-counter level starts spilling out onto the counter and into your environment.

You don't think your beliefs — you live them.

But none of these recode neural patterns.

It’s like putting gold glitter into a cracked foundation. It’s pretty, but it’s unstable.

  • What bothers you?

Between ages 11 and 22, I was bulimic. Eventually I healed through somatic work.

But the deeper identity belief didn’t disappear — it shape-shifted.

From body → relationships → business → money.

When I entered entrepreneurship, my identity flipped again, creating what I call financial bulimia — money in, money out. I had $40K in personal debt, and my husband and I had $100K in shared debt.

Identity patterns don’t vanish. They evolve.

Identity Creates Your Environment (18:30)

When I shifted my identity, my environment finally shifted with me — not before.

This is why:

  • If your identity says “I’m inconsistent,”

  • Your belief becomes “I won’t stick to this,”

  • Your behavior becomes 3 days of effort → then stop.

I think most affirmations are bullshit.

Because the only reason you have to say affirmations is because you’re telling your subconscious you're NOT already the thing.

Wealthy people aren’t going around declaring, “I’m wealthy.”
They simply are.

Affirmations work when they match identity — not when they compensate for it.

Embodiment is challenging because it feels uncomfortable and unnatural at first — like trying on a dress one size too small.

But the fastest way to shift identity is through physiology.

This is why you must learn to regulate both.

This is how physiology shapes identity.

If you slouch, your nervous system interprets survival mode.
If you open your posture, your body interprets safety.

Sometimes you don’t know your beliefs — but your bank account does.

Patterns reveal identity:

  • Always going negative

  • Barely paying the credit card minimum

  • Making money → more bills appear

Once is a fluke.
Twice is a pattern.
Three times = subconscious belief.

Every limiting belief is rooted in:

  • Safety

  • Control

  • Acceptance

Society often rewards struggle and being a “trier,” but not success.

I live by one simple rule:

“That which is conscious manifests happily.
That which is unconscious manifests unhappily.”

Unhappy patterns aren’t punishment — they’re feedback.

Interrupting Old Patterns — Parenting Example (38:00)

Recently, my boys (8 and 4) were fighting constantly. I realized I was starting my day with an eye roll.

So I chose a different state.

I walked up to them like a happy puppy:
“Oh my gosh, I’m so happy to see you!”

Intentionally shifting my state allowed me to parent from a different consciousness.

Identity Is Repetition — Not Affirmation (42:00)

Identity sticks through repeating:

  • Behavior

  • Physiology

  • Embodied action

Not words.
